Jenny had her heart set on a particular wedding dress and only one store in Melbourne had it in stock. When she finally arrived to try it on she knew it wasn’t the one, “it made me look like a marshmallow… luckily I found my dream gown in the same store” explained a relieved Jenny.
The couple met at the Long Room on Collins Street when Dimitri boldly introduced himself to Jenny at the bar. Hitting it off immediately, Dimitri waited patiently for two weeks for Jenny to return from holidays to take her on their first date.
While sharing a romantic meal overlooking the ocean in beautiful Hawaii, Dimitri “went to the bathroom”, when the waiter brought out their dessert, covered with a suspicious plate. Jenny waited in anticipation for Dimitri to return from the bathroom – “I cried yes, as soon as he went down on one knee”, recalled Jenny of the unforgettable moment.
The couple chose the Bell City Ballroom for their Melbourne wedding reception, after a friend recommended they consider the venue, and fell in love with its romantic feel. With the help of their family, friends and Bell City’s Weddings Executive Stephanie, Jenny and Dimitri enjoyed their stress-free wedding planning process “everything ran seamlessly from start to finish”, explained the couple happily.
Following an 11-month engagement, the big day finally arrived and continuing the theme of surprising his future wife, Dimitri had red roses delivered to Jenny while she was having her hair and makeup done, “he is so beautiful, the card just simply said, I can’t wait to be your husband”.
Jenny and Dimitri made their entrance as husband and wife to greet 150 of their closest family and friends in the Bell City Ballroom, elegantly styled with candle centrepieces, satin ceiling draping and dramatic royal blue details.
Beaming with radiance and grace in her vintage style Roz La Kelin bridal gown Jenny accompanied her dress with something old and borrowed, wearing her sister’s necklace from her wedding day 16-years prior and a new blue lace garter to complete the tradition.
Family and friends were served alternating entrées of chilled prawns and crab with avocado salsa, and potato gnocchi in a creamy mushroom sauce. Guests enjoyed a main meal of either spiced chicken Maryland served with roast butternut pumpkin, or New York sirloin served with roast vegetables.
After an unforgettable day filled with love, happiness and all things fun, Jenny and Dimitri later relaxed in their deluxe Bell City suite, with their own private balcony, spa bath and chocolate dipped strawberries– heaven!
