After 10 years together, Jeremy proposed with a combination of Alison’s favourite things; wine, fresh flowers and travel. “It was such a beautiful moment, I was so excited and couldn’t wait to be married to my now-husband”, explains Alison.
The couple met at Ivanhoe Swimming Pool when Jeremy ‘tested the water’ boldly introducing himself to Alison. After their first date at the Ivanhoe Bakehouse, the pair discovered they shared similar values, humour and a love of travel, “Jeremy and I had so much in common. From the very beginning he has made me laugh every single day; I love that about him”, says Alison.
Alison and Jeremy began researching Melbourne wedding reception venues after selecting Ivanhoe Uniting Church for their ceremony. “We came across Bell City on the Easy Weddings website and we loved the modern styling of the ballroom for our reception”. The lovebirds couldn’t wait to visit the venue in person, organising a site inspection with weddings executive Stephanie right away.
Finding her dream dress was also stress-free for this relaxed bride, “I was very lucky to find my wedding dress in the very first shop we visited. Mum and I fell in love with it, and I knew it was the one”. Shopping for her bridesmaid’s dresses was also an easy task, allowing them to choose different styles that suited each of them, in shades of purple.
After two years of planning, Alison and Jeremy’s big day finally arrived; Saturday the 14th of March 2015. The crowd stood with anticipation as Alison entered the church in her striking fit and flare vintage-inspired gown, “I had a few nerves walking down the aisle. I was anxiously hoping that Jeremy would like my dress, but when I saw his face my nerves disappeared and I just couldn’t wait to get up there and marry my best friend”. It was at this stage that Alison discovered that Jeremy had cut his shoulder length hair into a trendy short-style for the wedding – a final declaration of his love for her before their big day.
The newlyweds made a grand entrance to the Bell City Ballroom, superbly styled with white and lilac details, satin ceiling draping, romantic candles and an abundance of fresh flowers, “we wanted our wedding theming to be simple but classic, and to incorporate our favourite colour purple”, the couple explained.
After saying goodbye and thank you to their closest friends and family, Alison and Jeremy settled in their deluxe Mantra Bell City Preston Executive Suite. “We truly loved every single minute of our wedding reception at Bell City, and we are very grateful for the support from Stephanie and the entire team” the couple explained, reflecting on their special day.
