It’s happened again…another gorgeous Aussie summer has come and gone. Those hours spent baking on a beach, late night BBQs with friends, and nights on balmy rooftop bars with cocktails in tote, are now just lovely warm-weather memories. Autumn, however, is not the time to dwell but rather embrace the slightly cooler weather and fantastic events popping up throughout the city this month. We’ve compiled a list of just 10 events to keep you entertained in and outdoors this month.
1. St. Patricks Day at CHILL Restaurant and Bar
On Saturday 17th March come down to CHILL for happy hour priced drinks ALL DAY to celebrate St. Patricks Day! It doesn’t matter if you’re Irish or not, this is sure to be a fun day for everyone with great music, ice cold beers and, as always, delicious food. We’ll see you at the bar!

3. Fried chicken festival at Preston Food Truck Park

With activities to keep the kids entertained it’s not only a family friendly event but also a great place to enjoy a beer or two with your friends.
4. Yoga in the sky at QT
Open air yoga is becoming a huge trend worldwide and it’s coming to Melbourne. The 8am sessions will be located on the beautiful QT rooftop, inviting beginners and advanced yogis alike to enjoy a morning of gravity-defying downwards dogs. It wouldn’t be a true Melbourne event if brunch wasn’t on the menu, so Bender Yoga has organised fresh juices and granola as post-work out food. This will definitely be an event worth waking up for!
5. Rooftop Cinemas
If rooftop yoga doesn’t appeal to you…does a rooftop cinema sound better? Don’t let the cooler autumn weather deter you, each of the seven rooftop and open-air cinemas throughout the city have blankets for sale, so you can snuggle up to a film whilst enjoying spectacular city views! From cult-classics to the latest Oscar-hyped movies, there’s something for everyone, so get in quick before these venues go into hibernation for the winter.
Melbourne’s Moomba Festival is back for its 64th consecutive year! As a sport-loving city, events like The Moomba Masters’ world-class waters ports, and the pro scoot, skate and BMX competitions are coveted by locals. The Moomba Parade is, of course, not to be missed. Enjoy all events and activities whilst sampling some of the city’s most delicious food from a range of local traders.
7. Brunswick Music Festival
Who doesn’t love a music festival?! No one. This year Brunswick Musical Festival will showcase both local and international artists, all performing throughout Brunswick and its iconic music venues. Located on Sydney road, just 15 minutes from Bell City, with a range of free activities and events this is a budget-friendly outing that is not to be missed.
8. Free Taco Day at Taco Bill
We’re not sure about you, but we could NEVER say ‘no’ to a free taco! On Thursday March 22nd Taco Bill restaurants across the city will be raining tacos, giving each person 2 free tacos to celebrate selling of 50 million of them in the past 50 years. We don’t care what the reason is, we will be bunking down in the closest Taco Bill and not move for the whole day.
9. Queen Victoria Summer Night Market
We know it’s not technically summer anymore, but that hasn’t stopped the vendors at the Queen Victoria Summer Night Market. Running until the 11th April with live performances and all the delicious food and drinks stands you could hope for. It’s a fantastic outing for friends and family to get the last tastes of summer….before the Winter Night Market starts in June.
10. Easter Choc Market
Easter is one of our favourite holidays…mainly because of the massive, delicious amounts of chocolate involved. That’s why we’re so happy that Melbourne’s best chocolatiers have come together to create the best and most delicious Easter event in the city. With chocolate in all its forms (Easter eggs, pastries, hot chocolates and even chocolate martinis) it’s a chocolate lover’s paradise and the best place to spend an extra-long weekend.
